What changes now that support at home has started?
You're warmly invited to join us for a free Support at Home information session and have all your questions answered.
From 1 November 2025, the Australian Government introduced the new Support at Home program, which replaced the previous Home Care packages program.
We understand that for many people in our community, these changes have felt uncertain and at times confusing. If you've found yourself wandering what it all means for you, you're not alone.
We’re running this series again to share the latest updates and give you the chance to have your questions answered.
During our time together we'll also explore:
- What has changed under the new Support at Home program and what it means for you
- How your contributions may work, including financial hardship support and information
- How funding works for equipment, home modifications and services
- Tips for managing your budget with your Care Partner so it lasts and works well for you
- How to make the most of other government-funded supports available to you
- Upcoming changes, including possible Government-capped fees from July 2026
Support at Home expert, Kerri Lanchester, will be there, alongside your local Client & Community Advisor and Care Coordinator, to take you through the main changes. Whether you’re a current Lutheran Services Home Care client or you’re yet to start your Home Care journey, everyone is welcome to attend.
Change can feel overwhelming, especially when it affects the support you rely on. Our hope is that you leave feeling informed, supported, and more at ease about what these reforms mean for you.
